No more fund in the Philippines

No more fund in the Philippines

Today, 25th of September, I just got my 2nd payslip for the month of September. Well, as usual, there are a lot of deductions which I am always shocked. It is like every payslip I am shocked and not yet used to these deductions.

It is my first year of teaching. When I was still studying, teachers kept on complaining about their salary. They said that it was not enough for them to make a living; they said that there is no money in teaching. And these are my high school teachers, it is like they are never satisfied with what they get every month. To the point that they are even annoyed and depressed inside the classroom while we are having discussions, they always insert that issue and the rest of their issues in life. But still, I chose this field. I bravely chose this field even though the whole teaching-odds are against this. They wanted me to choose Mass Communication, Journalism, and other Arts-related course. Well, I tried a scholarship in Lyceum for Journalism and ‘luckily’ that I did not pass (evil laugh).

Deductions for so many reasons. Endless reasons that made me think and question. I know that there are deductions but I was not expecting that it would be like this. I am thinking of my thinking if where the funds are going. If why are we still in the depth of poverty if all the professionals are really obliged to pay taxes and other things. We still owe other countrie’s’–with an emphasis on ‘S’, Every life has something for him/ her to pay for other countries.

Our country has a very big population; and of course, we pay for taxes. Isn’t it enough to at least lessen the debts that we have right now. A person pays taxes until his/ her death, still, nothing has changed. Debts are still debts; in fact, debts become more debts–like it’s more debts in the Philippines. Debts which made us more boxed with the other reigning countries worldwide; which made us poorest of the poor; which made us more pitiful of our condition.

I chose teaching because definitely I want to teach and I am fond of imparting what I have. It is indeed a satisfaction seeing other people learning from your perception which makes you more of a teacher. I really do not get why these politicians still steal what they do not own. Aren’t they satisfied with what they have? What makes a man satisfied? What is satisfaction? Is it a simple ejaculation or a slice of pizza?

Well, this is just my first year, and I know that there will be more and more deductions along the way. I just hope and pray that the government will make me feel satisfied with these.
